Public Comment
Charlie Dunlop is proposing to the town a low power A.M. broadcast band public safety information radio station operated under the FCC licensed Traveler’s Information radio service.  P&R could broadcast information for the beach, fireworks and rail trail on the A.M. radio station.  Charlie is asking for P&R’s support at this time.  The board was in favor of this.

Review Minutes and Bills
Bills were reviewed and approved.  Minutes were reviewed and approved.

Whalley Park
Alicia Szenda is looking for fields to hold sporting events and other events in the area such as a juggler’s convention.  Currently Glory Sports Productions is looking to hold a 3V3 one day Soccer Tournament.  They are looking for someone to promote and manage the 3V3.  Pat stated we do not have the manpower to manage this type of event.  P&R would be willing to rent out the fields for the event.  Jon at R.Levesque said JL is preparing for the parking area lighting work and they will be installing the footings, conduit, and wiring under their contract.  The anchor bolts are typically cast into the footings by a local company, while the bolts are usually supplied with the light poles.  The template to hold the bolts in position along with the bolts need to be purchased separately.  Jon has contacted a local light rep.  Jon said the cost should be minimal for the 72 anchor bolts and template.  March 14 the Granby Hornets will start with practices and games for the season.  The 90’ field will need to be lined and manicured.  Skips provided a shed quote for a smaller 8x8 shed of $1676.00.  Pat will go to the finance committee and see if the extra well funds can be used toward the shed.

Rail Trail
Southwick Historical Society would like the Friends of the Southwick Rail Trail to put up posters at the kiosk to advertise for the sale of their book.  The book is about the bike trails in MA and CT.  The proceeds will be used for erecting historical signs along bike trails.  Review R&R revised quote for mower repairs.  Mike went to the P&R Budget hearing meeting.  They asked P&R to get a quote for a tune up on the old rail trail mower and to have the shop take a look at the engine to see if any work needs to be done.  Mike said it looks like P&R may be given DPW’s 4 year old, 2 wheel drive truck.
