The Accounting Office handles the bills and payroll submitted by all Town Departments. The Office's personnel consists of a full-time Town Accountant, a full-time Assistant Town Accountant, and one full-time Accounting Clerk and one part-time Accounting Clerk. The Town Accountant is appointed by the Select Board for a term of three years.

As in any business, every penny spent and received must be kept track of. The Accounting Office is in charge of keeping the books for Town Government, the Water Department, and all other revenue and expenditure sources. The Town employs an average of 210 full/part-time employees. The Accounting Office maintains the employment records for each individual, whether full or part-time, and processes payroll on a bi-weekly basis.
