There's a Porcupine in My Outhouse! An evening with Michael Tougias (Virtual)

Event Date:
Wednesday, June 29, 2022 - 6:30pm

This presentation is based on NYT bestselling author Michael Tougias' book There’s A Porcupine In My Outhouse which won “Best Nature Book of the Year” as awarded by the Independent Publishers Association of America.  The book and slide show are based on misadventures on Tougias’ early years of exploring New England’s backcountry and at his remote cabin in Northern Vermont. Tougias talks about his first disastrous trip to his newly bought cabin, the history of Outhouses, encounters with bear, moose, fishing spiders and porcupine, and the history of Mountain Men.  The slide presentation also takes the audience to special places in Vermont’s Northeast Kingdom, Northern NH, and Northern Maine.  Besides the adventure and exploration theme, Tougias mixes in conservation and the therapeutic powers of the woods.

This program will be offered virtually. Please email southwicklibrary@comcast.net to sign up.
