Adult Services

The Adult Services Department at the Southwick Public Library offers items for checkout, services, and programs to the community. 

Bookshelves

The Adult Collection: The Adult section of the library houses both fiction and nonfiction books (in both regular print and large print), music CD's, audiobooks, movies, and magazines. Our "New" section in the front of the library houses our most recently available items. We also have specialty collections like a section of Great Courses, a business section, and language learning books and audiobooks. The Adult collection also houses our Reference and Local History collections for your research needs. 

Adult Programs: We have several recurring programs and several special programs each month. For our special programs, pick up a copy of the Library Links newsletter (or view it on the home page of the website under "News and Announcements." Our monthly programs include (please refer to the Library Links or call- dates sometimes vary due to holidays, etc.):

  • We have two book clubs. Our Evening Book Club meets the first Tuesday of the month at 7pm. The Daytime Book Club meets the second Tuesday of the month at 10am. Pick up a book, read it, and come discuss it at our meeting. Everyone is welcome!
  • Craft and Chat meets the third Monday of the month at 6:30pm. We put out coloring books and pens/pencils, but you can also bring in a craft project you're working on. 
  • Cookbook Club meets the fourth Tuesday of the month at 6:30pm. Each participant is asked to make one regular sized recipe so everyone can taste. Please be advised: neither the food served at the cookbook club, and prepared in home kitchens, nor the facilities have been inspected by the state or local public health agency.

Special one-time programs have included craft nights, presenters on business/career topics, folklore, local and regional history, and more! If there's a topic you're interested in the library hosting, please let us know!
