I am a multi-published author of literary fiction, alternative YA, and more.
To me, writing is music -- it has cadence, rhythm, sound and tone, all of which are just as crucial to telling the story as the plot itself. It is not enough to just put the story down on paper. The RIGHT words -- as well as the phrasing of them -- help create mood, emotion, build tension, generate empathy, etc. As in music composition, creating a flow of prose can be a powerful tool in storytelling.
Join me to talk about my process, and try your hand at some imagery-inspired quick writing.
