COA Meeting Minutes

MEETING CALLLED TO ORDER 1:00pm
 
Presiding: Roy Benson
 
Present:  Joan Plancon, Herb Pace, Mary Jane Connolly, Harriet Fischer, Associate members: Paula LeBlanc, Donna Charron, Carol Laughlin and Director Cindy Sullivan.
 
Absent: Rebecca Perron
 
Minutes: Reviewed and accepted. Harriet moved to accept, Herb second, approved by all.
 
Bills: Reviewed and accepted.
 
New Business:
 
Update from Director:
 
  • Mural and cooking classes - no information on mural, cooking class starts 4/12/16 at 9:30am. Twelve people have signed up.
  • Volunteer Luncheon - 5/18/16, 11:30am at Tuckers.
  • Sarah Gillette Grant - waiting to hear about money for Laughter Therapy Program.
  • Talent Show - 5/4/16 at 1:00pm. Ten acts signed up
  • Southwick PTO meeting - asked to start Pen Pal with senior and first graders in September.
  • Town Hall Room Charge Policy - town is now charging $20.00 an hour for use of Senior Center exercise room for outside groups.
  • Nominations for next year's COA Board - Vote in May:
President - Mary Jane Connolly
Vice President - Rebecca Perron
Secretary - Joan Plancon
Herb moved to accept, Harriet second, approved by all.
  • Signing of Bills - only two people are needed to sign bills. Harriet moved to accept, Mary Alice second, approved by all.
Updates:
 
  • Classes -  a beginners Tai Chi class will be added in the fall.   
  • Transportation - fine
  • Dining Center - more people attending, Denise will be holding a monthly raffle with chances to win gift cards to local businesses
  • Brown Bag - no change
  • Finances - good
