The Springfield Stars Club, with the possibility of the Westfield High School Space & Astronomy Club and the Springfield Science Museum will be out with their telescopes for a stargazing event Friday October 20th, from 6-9 PM. Cloud dates October 21st and 22nd. This will be at the Sofinowski Land Preserve at 155 Mort Vining Road. The viewing will be in the first hay field and the path from the parking lot to the hay field will be illuminated by red lights. Some of these paths may be difficult for some people and young children. Observation of the nearly 1st quarter moon will be just after the 6PM sunset. Saturn and Jupiter will also be visible. After 7:30 PM the Andromeda galaxy, star clusters and nebula will also be visible. There will be green laser sky tours at 7 & 8 PM. This event is free to the public.
