The scheduled meeting of the Capital Expenditures Committee was called to order at 6:00 p.m.

 

The next meeting for the Capital Expenditures Committee will be held on February 9, 2017 at 6:00 p.m.

 

A MOTION was made by R. Horacek, seconded by L. Bathel (Vote — Unanimous) to appoint J. Deedy as Chairman of the Capital Expenditures.

 

A MOTION was made by M. Krynicki, seconded by L. Bathel (Vote— Unanimous) to appoint R. Horacek as Vice- Chairman of the Capital Expenditures.

 

A MOTION was made by M. Krynicki, seconded by R. Horacek (Vote — Yes: 3 Abstain: 2)to approve the minutes of March 15, 2015.

 

6:05 p.m. COA Director, Cindy Sullivan:

 

Cindy Sullivan, COA Director discussed replacing the senior van, It has 65,000 for mileage but is a 2005. She is requesting $55,000.00.

 

6:15 p.m. Police Department, Chief Ricardi:

 

Chief Ricardi spoke to the CapCom requesting 2 cruisers@ $63,000.00 total.
This is standard rotation for their fleet.

 

6:20 p.m. EMS Fire Department, Chief Anderson:

 

Chief Anderson explained 2 scenarios.
  • SCBA 6 units if awarded grant @ $42,000.00
  • SCBA 21 units if not awarded grant @ $147,000.00
  • Air Compressor @ $50,000.00 (grant eligible for next FY 2019)
  • Chief Anderson is also requesting to replace his 2010 SUV that has 60,000
  • miles and make that vehicle an EMS fly car.
  • Chief vehicle $45T000.
6:40 p.m. Lake Restoration, Dick Grannells & Eric Mueller:

 

Dick Grannells and Eric Mueller discussed with the Capital Expenditures Committee Alum Treatment for the Congamond Lakes@ $850,000.00. This is for water quality for alum treatment design & permitting. Additionally they are requesting $120,000.00 for canal brook clearing & dredging.
The committee members acknowledged and thanked Dick & Eroc for their commitment, volunteering and diligence in seeking funding for the Congamond Lakes.

 

The Capital Expenditures Committee will meet with Treasurer/Collector/Clerk, DPW, Buildings & Grounds, and Park & Ret on February 9, 2017.

 

Being no further business was brought forward before the Committee, A MOTION was made by, seconded by R. Horacek (Vote - Unanimous) to adjourn at 7:00 p.m.
