  • Diane reported that the “Donate Life” flags have been placed outside the Library and at Town Hall.
  • Diane reported on continuing education - attending a small business seminar, a webinar, Jackie to build a better summer program. Diane was to go to Town Hall for ‘dementia’ training. Paul also wants to go and is an ombudsman
  • Diane noted that a watercolor workshop was scheduled for the morning of April 21. Cost to attend $15.00
  • Diane reported that the current internet problems have been repaired. Maybe there would be new installations in the future. We’ll see what develops
  • Diane noted the Children and Families Dept wants to set up a display for foster children - posters and such, and an information leaflet for current and prospective foster parents
  • Diane reported that the MBLC budget chart was out, and suggesting contacting Nick Boldyga and Don Hummason to support the Governor’s budget for FY2018
  • Diane described the e-card for the Boston Library. She has one, and mentioned the easy access to online resources
  • Diane reported on problems with outside students parking in the Library lot instead of up at the high school because that’s where the bus drops them off. Also student athletes are coming into the Library to use the restrooms because the school locks them out. They sometimes come in either with no shoes, or with cleats
Meeting Minutes
Suzanne moved to accept the minutes of 2/14/17. Seconded by Carol.  Unanimously approved

Director’s Report
See attached spreadsheet for February and March. The Trustees did not meet in March due to a heavy snowstorm.

Old business
The Library Survey has been revised and is available to the public at the Library and on the Town web site.

New business
  • Discussion of a Telescope Lending Policy -
  • The Aldrich Astronomical Society ‘will come into the Library and setup a telescope and teach the staff to use it. A lending program is set up, and they provided a sample ‘lending agreement’. It was suggested that the scope be lent out to local groups (i.e., scouts, 411, school science departments, Lions, Kiwanis, etc) at tint. Then if there is good acceptance, lending to individuals.
