1. Malcolm made a motion to accept the minutes from the May 25, 2017 Canal Restoration meeting as written.  Mike D. seconded.  All were in favor and the motion passed.

2. Malcolm made a motion to accept the minutes from the May 25, 2017 Lake Management Committee meeting with the following changes: 3-(1) we remanded this property to DEP 3-(3) Rick was going to speak with owners about this issue.  Mike D. seconded.  All were in favor and the motion passed.
3. Salt and Sand – When LMC last discussed this topic, members thought that the change to just salt to treat Southwick roads in the winter would be harmful to the lakes.  Randy Brown and Chris Faria have provided the LMC with four years of data that shows the use of salt is the way to go. The data shows DPW using less salt and sand per inch of snow.  Thanks guys!

4. Eric – Eric brought us part of his presentation that he will be presenting at the CRC meeting Tuesday 6/13 at Crabby Joes.   Eric presented graphs on water clarity, temperature, level, etc… for the last three years.  It is very interesting how there are not many changes from year to year.   The clarity is basically the same as 2015 but would greatly improve with an alum treatment.  If you wanted to plan on going swimming on June 22nd this year and were wondering what the temp might be, all one would have to do is go check on Eric’s graph for any of the previous years on that date.  Awesome information, Eric!

5. Grant Application – Dick is still working with State legislators for funding (1) alum treatment & (2) dredging the Canal and shallow areas in Congamond.

6. Scotty made a motion to adjourn and Mike seconded.  All were in favor.  The meeting was adjourned at 7:40 pm.

7. The next scheduled meeting will be held on June 22, 2017.

Respectfully submitted,
