Report of the Building Department
As of February 6, 2011 the State of Massachusetts is adopting a new Building Codes. Massachusetts Building Departments will be issuing building permits using the 2009 International Building Codes I.B.C. Basic / Commercial 8th Edition with amendments from CMR 780.
The One and Two Family Building Code will be taken from the International Residential Code 2009. MA will be using the IECC International Energy Conservation Code 2009. Anyone applying for building permits must use the above code books.
