Social Media Apps: Safe and Risky Use

 Hampden County District Attorney’s Youth Advisory Board Presentation For Stgrsd Parents/Guardians & Community – April 23 At Southwick Regional School

SOUTHWICK, MA – Southwick Regional School will host an important community event, “Social Media Apps: Safe and Risky Use,” presented by the Hampden County District Attorney’s Youth Advisory Board, on Tuesday, April 23, from 6:00 - 7:15 p.m., in the Southwick Regional School auditorium (93 Feeding Hills Road, Southwick).
In collaboration with staff from the District Attorney’s Community Safety & Outreach Office, the Youth Advisory Board will present information for families/community members on safe social media use. The presentation will include: An overview of popular social media applications used by youth; safe and risky use of those applications; how predators can present themselves online; and how parents/ guardians can manage and monitor social media activity and encourage safe use. The District Attorney’s Youth Advisory Board will serve as panelists, answering questions and offering their expertise and perspective.
The event is free and open to the public. All STGRSD families and community members are welcome to attend, and parents/guardians of students in grades 6-12 are encouraged to attend.
