COA Meeting Minutes

MEETING CALLLED TO ORDER 10:00am
Presiding: Mary Jane Connolly
Present: Roy Benson, Mary Alice Martin, Joan Plancon, Harriet Fischer, Herb Pace, Associate members: Carol Laughlin, Paula LeBlanc, Donna Charron, and Director Cindy Sullivan.
Absent: Rebecca Perron
Minutes: Reviewed and accepted, Harriet moved, Joan second.
Bills: Reviewed and accepted, Harriet moved, Joan second
New Business:
- Smoke detectors - October 29, 2016, Fire Department checking homes and replacing old ones. Appointments needed.
- Street Numbering on houses will be checked in spring.
- Tax Work Off Program - collecting information.
- Laughter Workshop - October 7, 2016 at 10:00am.
- EZ Pass - October 16, 2016 10:00am to 2:00pm, Town Hall Auditorium.
- Pen Pals Program - to start soon with 2nd graders at Woodland school.
- Mural - Ed Leon is coming September 12th at 12:00pm, Mary Alice was involved in finding him to do mural. Cindy will look into what is appropriate.
- Cultural Council Grant - Cindy will be looking into what is appropriate.
- Cooking class from Westfield Technical Academy will be held on October 25, 2016. Making a soup, cost is $5.00.
Updates:
- Classes - first five weeks will be free
- Transportation - fine, van now in use until 4:00pm Wednesdays
- Dining Center - more people using center for lunch
- Brown Bag - Carol will now be Brown Bag representative
- Finances - fine
Old Business:
- Card table for poker - Cindy still looking for one, she is looking into maybe fixing ours.
- Shelves for closet being built.
- Car show was a success.
