COA Meeting Minutes

MEETING CALLLED TO ORDER 1:00pm
 
Presiding: Roy Benson
 
Present:  Joan Plancon, Herb Pace, Mary Jane Connolly, Mary Alice Martin, Harriet Fischer, Rebecca Perron, Associate members: Paula LeBlanc, Donna Charron, Carol Laughlin and Director Cindy Sullivan.
 
Absent: None
 
Minutes: Reviewed and accepted. Herb moved to accept, Harriet second, approved by all.
 
Bills: Reviewed and accepted.
 
New Business:
 
Update from Director:
 
  • Volunteer Luncheon - May 18, 2016 at Tuckers,11:30am. Sally Killips will do centerpieces, Cindy will ask Phil Pothier to supply music.
  • Light above Pool Table and Card Table - getting prices for light and electrician. Money coming from Gift account. Buying bigger card table and cleaning rug.
  • Talent Show - One Hundred people in audience, will do again.
  • Luau - July 6, 2016 - 11:00am-1:00pm, cost $5.00. Special entertainment, three people, cost $200.00

  • Herb moved, Mary Alice second, approved by all:

            Rebecca - Vice President
            Joan - Secretary



 
Updates:
 
  • Classes -  Line Dancing and Yoga will continue in summer.  
  • Transportation - in good shape.
  • Dining Center - average 20-25 daily.
  • Brown Bag - no changes.
  • Finances - Andrea being paid for Shine hours, paid by Town Budget if approved at town meeting on May 18, 2016.
  • Cooking Class - Fifteen to twenty students, last class will be May 17, 2016. Start again in October.
     
Old Business:
 
  • Toilets in women's bathroom - replacing one with taller seat.
  • Putting pull cords in for emergency, men's room also.
  • Harriet motioned to approach the BOS about removing all the throw rugs in the Senior Center inside and outside of the building, also extend to the Town Hall and be replaced by a more permanent and safer solution. The motion was seconded by Joan Plancon, All in favor.
     
Rebecca motion to adjourn, Harriet second. Approved by all.
