The Town of Southwick Select Board is seeking to appoint a Council on Aging Director.  The Director is an administrative, professional, and overall management position responsible for planning, developing, implementing, and advocating for programs and services offered by  the Council on Aging Department. The position is 30 hours per week, benefits eligible, starting at $53,508 per year.  Interested applicants must submit a letter of interest and a current resume.

Boards Secretary/Floater (Added 4/16/24)

The Town of Southwick is seeking candidates for a full-time position to support the Board of Health, the Planning Board and assist other departments as requested, $22.00 per hour.   Requires some scheduled evening hours for board meetings.  A valid driver’s license,  strong organizational, word-processing, and interpersonal skills are required. Familiarity with Zoom is necessary.

Seasonal Positions (Added 4/16/24)

The Town is seeking interested candidates for seasonal DPW positions to assist with weed whacking, patching potholes, painting hydrants, clean-up, transfer station monitoring and other light labor and miscellaneous tasks.  Requirements: valid driver’s license.  Preferred qualifications:  High School diploma or equivalent.   Approximately 20 hours per week at $16.50 per hour, may require some weekend hours.  Employment application can be obtained at www.southwickma.org/application. Patrol Officer (Added 4/12/24)

The Southwick Police Department is currently accepting applications for full-time, lateral transfer positions. Applicants must have completed a full-time MPTC police academy. Out of state applicants who attended a police academy outside of Massachusetts should obtain an advisory letter from the Massachusetts Police Training Committee. Candidates selected to join the Southwick Police Department will be required to successfully complete a comprehensive background investigation, oral interviews, and medical and psychological examinations. The current salary for Step One Patrol Officer is $58,107.00 plus education incentive, clothing allowance, paid holidays, vacation and sick time, insurances, and other benefits.

Groundskeeper and Maintenance 

The Town is seeking interested candidates for the position of Groundskeeper and Maintenance Personnel for the Park & Recreation Commission. The position requires providing routine maintenance of recreational facilities and grounds, minor repairs, mowing, mulching and field readiness on a daily, or as needed, basis and includes various custodial duties. Assistant Animal Control Officer (Added 1/19/24)

The Town of Southwick is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Assistant to the Animal Control Officer, 15 hours per week, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday 8 A.M. -1 P.M., in addition to On-Call availability as necessary, to perform highly responsible work in the enforcement of local and State ordinances, regulations and statutes pertaining to municipal animal control activities.

The position requires a High School diploma or equivalency, plus 2 years of experience as an animal care worker in a kennel, animal control facility, veterinary hospital, or boarding facility. Must possess and maintain a valid Motor Vehicle Operator’ s License and must be able to be on site within a 30-minute period when responding to all calls from the Southwick Police Department.  

Wage: $18.00 per hour 

After hour Call-Out: $30 per request

Southwick Fire Department
Per Diem Paramedic

The Town of Southwick Fire Department is accepting applications for per diem Paramedic positions. Requirements: HS diploma or equivalent, valid MA driver’s license, possess and maintain Massachusetts Paramedic certification, active 911 Paramedic experience preferred.

Finalist will be required to complete a medical examination/drug screening CORI, an extensive background check, and other assessments as deemed necessary.
