Whalley Park
Review letter from Kim Lamarche stating the Whalley Park deed specifically exempts all but .org (charities and fundraisers) from using or paying rent for facilities or charge for parking.  She would like to know how this has changed.  Special events.  Who gets the revenue? If organized by someone P&R gets a portion.  If organized by P&R we get all the revenue.  Are there any other plans to change the deed?  The deed can’t be changed in perpetuity.  Who shall be responsible for upkeep, booking events and where will the funding come from?  Current office staff, Cara, in charge of booking.  The upkeep of the park is performed by volunteers and a maintenance employee, which is paid out of the money raised by the park.  Total cost for park since inception?  Total revenue for park since its availability for use?  Started with $1.2 million from CPC for fencing, sidewalks, lighting and soccer fields, conduit for baseball and softball fields.  $541,000 from CPC for field and pavilion lighting, benches and equipment.  $50,000 from the town to install wells.   Do all construction and planned construction meet ADA rules?  Yes, they have to by Mass General Laws.
