Park & Recreation Meeting Minutes

                        

The meeting was opened by Commissioner Patrick Roche at 6:30 pm. The next meeting of the Park and Recreation will February 10, 2016 at 6:30 pm.

Karen Shute would like to hold a before and after school program at the Town Hall Community Center.  This would be a self funding program.  There is a lot of great space that is perfect for this type of program.  Karen has past experience in before and after school care.  She contacted the bus company.  They stated if the bus would drop off school children as passing by it may be free.  If there is a special run to town hall there would be a fee.  The facility would need to be licensed.  Employees would have to be first aid and CPR certified.  Karen will provide board with a written proposal.  

Bills were reviewed and approved.  Minutes were reviewed and approved.  

John stated there is a water leak at the park.  A fixture underground is leaking near the maintenance building.  Pat will call Randy at DPW.  Charlie Pratt will go out and mark the location of the wells to finish the permit process.  Jeanne received interest in holding the Relay for Life at Whalley Park.  The commissioners were in favor.  

P&R is waiting for MOD and MIA inspection results.  John Westcott will give results to P&R when he receives.   

  

No update on mowing the overgrowth along the sides of the trail.  FOSRT ordered the approved signs.  Cara and Brooks will follow up on completion date.

No new business.  

7:34 pm John Whalley motioned to adjourn the meeting; Jeanne Reed-Waldron seconded the motion. The meeting was called to a close.
