Guest:  Anthony Rotondo of 135 North Lake Ave, Southwick, MA 01077.

1. We were unable to vote on the minutes from the previous meeting because we did not have a quorum this evening.

2. LPP Variance – Anthony Rotondo reported that he is unable to remove his floating dock because it is just too big and heavy to maneuver.  LMC members concur with the hardship and requested that he secure the dock to the shoreline in the off-season and place orange warning barrel(s) on same.  Members reminded him that dock must be maintained in good condition and if it falls into disrepair or breaks up during the off-season, it must be removed from the lake.   He agreed that this was a reasonable request and agreed to do so.

3. LPP Variance – 12 Island Pond Rd.  The owner of this property keeps encroaching on Island Pond Beach Association with his docks and has now installed his dock on their property.  Members agreed that docks must be placed according to LPP regulations or removed from the lake.

4. Buoys – A big Thank You to Rick, Dick and Rick’s co-worker “volunteers” for all their hard work on the buoys this year!  Rick placed all the buoys into the lake after Dick made all necessary repairs to all of them.  These repairs include but are not limited to new stainless steel lanyards and several new set ups.  Dick is going to email our police divers to request their assistance in trying to find some of the missing moorings and untangle boarding docks mooring chains.

5. S319 Grant Application – This application is due June 1st.  Eric and Dick are working on this together trying to get money for an alum treatment and shared dredge equipment.  Looking for $750,000 from the State for the “local share” of the alum treatment in the grant application.

6. We are looking for another member.  If anyone knows of anyone who may be interested have them check out an upcoming meeting.

7. LMC is asking all lake front home owners to please use organic fertilizer and weed controllers on their lawns to help reduce phosphorus in Congamond which has been determined to be the major cause of degrading water quality and increased algal blooms.

8. EPA has on their site some data about alum.  Ken says this data is false!

9. Eric needs sampling bottles to start testing next week with Ken.  Cost is of test ins $700 a round.  A total of $2,100 is needed for testing this April, May and June.

10. CRC has a working probe that needs to be serviced at the cost of $950.00.  It is a 4 probe meter.  CRC would like LMC to take it over along with the maintenance.  It will be great to have a spare, but we will need to vote on it at our next meeting.

11. Meeting was adjourned at 7:55 P.M.

12. Our next scheduled meeting will be held on May 12, 2016.

Respectfully submitted,
