Guest:  Greg Fitzpatrick of 27 Pineywoods Drive, East Longmeadow.  Greg is a reporter for the Westfield News.

1. Eric made a motion to accept the minutes as written from the May 26, 2016 meeting.  Scotty seconded, all were in favor and the motion passed.

2. Lake Data Update - Eric reported that even though South Pond has cleared up quite a bit recently we are likely to see a blue green algae bloom quite soon.  We should expect it either later this month or early next.  We need to continue to monitor and then treat accordingly.  Thanks to all Rick’s daily hard work, the monitoring gets done on a daily basis.

3. Dick made copies of WRS report on Cliff Pond in Nickerson State Park, Brewster, MA where a recent alum treatment was completed.

4. 319 Grant Update – The S319 Grant Application was hand carried to Worcester on Wednesday and DEP signed for it.  It is $1.23 million grant/match program!  We are looking at being able to do a whole lake alum treatment along with stormwater management improvements and weir gates on the southern end of Middle Pond.  We are hoping to hear a decision on the application in October.  Great News!

5. Buoys and Dive Team – Rick will be meeting the Dive team at the North Ramp on Friday, June 9th @ 9:30 A.M. so the dive team can install helix anchors for buoy moorings in four locations and do a sweep of Babb’s Beach for Suffield.  They will be looking for and removing dangerous debris in the swim area.

6. Fertilizers – Both IBS and Agway carry organic fertilizers that are considerably less harmful to the watershed.

7. LPP – Questions were raised about the three docks with “RENT SPACE” signs on them off property that was associated with the pavilion behind The Cove.  Dick will pass on the information to Dennis Clark.

8. Deb made a motion to adjourn and Scotty seconded.  All were in favor.  Our meeting was adjourned at 7:35 pm.

9. Our next scheduled meeting will be held on June 23, 2016.

Respectfully submitted,
