Guest:  Greg Fitzpatrick from the Westfield News was our guest this evening.

1. Mike DeBay made a motion to accept the minutes as written from the July 14, 2016 meeting.  Mike Coombs seconded, all were in favor and the motion passed.

2. Eric made a motion to accept the minutes from the August 11, 2016 meeting, with a change made by Dick to the date.  Mike DeBay seconded, all were in favor and the motion passed.

3. LPP – Jeanie has been working extremely hard on her recently implemented spreadsheet plan.  She has been diligently entering a comprehensive list of addresses of lakefront homeowners in both MA and CT.  Afterwards, she went out on the lake with her spreadsheet to see if those who purchased stickers had actually put them on their docks and/or rafts.  The correspondence she has been sending appears to be having a positive affect, as we have been hearing that there are more stickers present on the lake in the recent weeks.  Mike C. brought up how we need to do a much better job of ensuring that the assigned address codes are on all structures because of safety! In an emergency, the structure code can lead emergency services to the right location.

4. Lake Treatment – Last Monday(8/15) all three ponds were treated for algae.  On Friday (8/12)we received approval for treatment, had a significant algae bloom on Saturday, and treated Monday.  During that time the turbidity level went from a 3 to a whooping 10.  It is currently back to a 3. LMC volunteers took a water samples the week before treatment and another set during the bloom.  Both samples are currently at the lab.  What is really needed for long term water quality improvement is an Alum treatment and a dredger!

5. Babb’s Beach – The beach looks wonderful!  They have plans to open next year and have quite a long season.  We wish them great success!!

6. Boat Census – The census is included in all our packets this evening.  The information includes 14 years worth of data.

7. Class A & 1 Vessels – Officer Keith Stromgren is going to try to obtain more information on the cabin cruiser in South Pond that may be a prohibited Class 2 vessel.

8. Paddleboards – Paddleboards are considered "vessels" and as such must obey all town and state boating laws.

9. Scotty made a motion to adjourn and Mike D. seconded.  All were in favor.  Our meeting was adjourned at 7:30 pm.

10.     Our next scheduled meeting will be held on September 8, 2016.

Respectfully submitted,
