From the Town Clerk about Special State Election

The Special State Election will continue as scheduled for Tuesday, March 31 from 7am to 8pm at the Town Hall.

However, if you feel uncomfortable coming on election day, you are welcome to take out an absentee application before noon on March 30. If you wish to do an absentee, we would highly suggest you get the application to the Town Clerk’s office no later than March 23 to allow time to mail the ballot and you to return.

Applications can be obtained by visiting https://www.sec.state.ma.us/ele/eleabsentee/absidx.htm or visit www.southwickma.org  under the Town Clerk. Signed applications can be emailed to treasurer@southwickma.net, faxed to 413-569-0667, or dropped in the green mailbox on the left as you drive into the town hall parking lot.

Once you receive your ballot in the mail, please return to the Town Clerk before the close of the polls on March 31st
Returning ballots can be done by mailing to town hall in the required return envelope, drop in person, or drop in the green mailbox.

If you wish to understand how the absentee process works, please visit https://www.sec.state.ma.us/ele/eleabsentee/absidx.htm

If you are coming to vote on election day, we kindly ask everyone that is feeling under the weather to not come into the election area.  In addition, the Town Clerk will be staffing the election with fewer workers to limit any potential exposure. So we kindly ask of everyone to please come with patience. We will set up cones to space everyone apart and our booths will be wiped down throughout the day.

If you have any questions, feel free to contact the Town Clerk’s Office @ 413-569-5504.
