Congamond Road Construction
The Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT), through A. Pereira Construction, has started construction along Congamond Road. The project is estimated to cost approximately $4.1m and includes paving, lane widening with bicycle lanes, new sidewalk and pedestrian crossings, new stormwater management system, re-grading, and general safety improvements to comply with State and Federal requirements. Construction hours are typically Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, excluding holidays. Construction is expected to continue through Spring 2019. At times, traffic along Congamond Road may be reduced to one travel lane.
As a result of this increased traffic, we are asking all motorist to beware of the surroundings at all times. Congamond Road will be a construction site which will require everyone to:
Stay off mobile devices, even if they are hands free. Talking on the phone causes cognitive distraction.
There is a lot happening in work zones…pay attention to the Officers and signage.
Keep your eyes on the road. Traffic conditions can change quickly and unexpectedly in work zones.
Slow Down – especially at the first sign of a work zone. Obey all posted speed limits.
Speeding violations are double the original fine when occurring in a work zone.
There are no scheduled detours for this project. Delays should be expected, so please use an alternate route if possible.
