Electronic Permitting System
ELECTRONIC PERMITTING SYSTEM
For your convenience an electronic permitting system is now available for all permits issued by the Building Department, which includes Residential, Commercial, Electrical, Gas, Plumbing, Sheet Metal, Signs and Fire Sprinkler and Alarm Systems.
The staff at the Building Department is available to assist you in setting up your account and using the system. Office hours are 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday.
For electronic permitting, once you have set up your account, a copy of the plot plan and one set of drawings in PDF format will be required for most building permits. All permit documentation must be scanned into a PDF format and attached to the online permit application.
Once you have filled out the permit application and submitted it electronically, it is only in a preliminary stage. Each permit application requires signoffs from specific town Offices. The Building Department will send the application to the various departments as appropriate. The Building Department will also notify you of what the application fee will be for each permit. Payment will not be accepted until the application has been reviewed.
