The scheduled meeting of the Cemetery Commission was opened at 9:03 a.m. by Roy Benson.
Routine Business –
- Payables were signed.
- The minutes were read for the meeting of November 17, 2009. Diane made A MOTION to accept the minutes, seconded by Sharon (vote-unanimous).
Old Business –
- Bud would like to increase the amount of payment that the Commssion charges for the opening and closing of graves. After much discussion by the Commission, Diane made A MOTION, seconded by Sharon (vote-unanimous) to approve $320 for digging and $80 for equipment. This amount will be charged double on Sundays and holidays. This change will go into effect at a later date which will be determined by the commission at the next meeting.
- Bud discussed with the Commission that he has informed a Boy Scout Leader about the need for volunteers for the painting of the fence in the old cemetery. The paint will be purchased by the Commission. The juniper and pavers that is surrounding the flag pole in the new cemetery will also be removed by the Boy Scouts. The Commssion is requesting that a plan be submitted for removal of the juniper and pavers.
- Bud will contact TJ Bark Mulch and Great Brook Lumber for the price of bark mulch and loam that is needed for the upkeep of the cemetery.
- A contingency plan will be discussed and in place at the next meeting for a replacement for Bud when he is on vacation.
New Business –
- A working meeting will be set up for Commission members to update log books.
- The Commission would like to discuss the possibility of a future price increase for the purchase of lots.
- The next meeting will be May 11, 2010.
No other business. Diane made A MOTION to adjourn the meeting at 10:00 a.m., seconded by Sharon (vote - unanimous).
