Board of Health Meeting Minutes

OPENING: The regular scheduled meeting of the Board of Health opened at 7:00 p.m. The following members were in attendance:
Dr. Jerome Azia
Sue Brzoska
Jeanne Nilsson
Mr. Thomas FitzGerald, Health Director, was also in attendance.

 

MINUTES

 

Dr. Jerome Azia made a motion to accept the minutes of May 18th, 2017. Sue Brzoska seconded the motion. The vote of the Board was unanimous in favor.

 

MR. FITZGERALD’S REPORT

 

9 Foster Road Mr. FitzGerald reported that he had a date of May 9th, 2017 for Housing Court. The Housing Court Judge had previously appointed a receiver. The attorney for theCommonwealth verified that would allow for receiver to clean and make repairs to the property.

 

8 Curtis Road Mr. Fitzgerald conducted a re-inspection of the property and found that the debris previously found on property had been removed by the property owner.

 

33 Buckiugham Drive Mr. FitzGerald conducted a re-inspection of the property and spoke with property owner. The owner of property stated he had removed all the unregistered vehicles from the property and was in the process of bringing property up to code. Mr. FitzGerald reported that property owner intended to gut and rehab the property.

 

18 Eagle Street Mr. FitzGerald stated that the receiver will have a list presented to the Housing Court on what repairs need to be made. Mr. FitzGerald reported that there will be a court date in June, date to be determined to report the findings.

 

224 Vining Hill Road Mr. FitzGerald reported that we are looking at a receiver and will be reviewing this property.

 

14 Oak Street Mr. FitzGerald reported that a temporary receiver has been approved for the property. The property had previously been condemned.

 

38 Lakeview Street Mr. FitzGerald reports that the property owner stopped paying the court ordered payment for the water bill. A letter of non-payment has been sent the Housing Court.

 

226 South Longyard Road Mr. FitzGerald reported he received a complaint about the property declining. The property is currently vacant and the bank is currently paying the taxes on the property. Mr. FitzGerald stated he will look into the registry records to find information on property and will have to do a re-inspection on the property.

 

16 Depot Court Mr. FitzGerald reported that there has been an appointed guardian ad litem by the court and the tenant is in the process of moving.

  • The board discussed the new regulations for solid waste and Jeanne Nilsson made a motion to approve to adopt the new regulations and Sue Brzoska seconded and all were in favor. The new regulations will be forwarded to town council. New regulations effective as of July 13, 2107.
