Members in Attendance: Sam Santaniello, Chairman, Roz Terry, Vice Chairman, Karen Legace, and Lori Rindels

The meeting came to order at 7:00 p.m and all of those present were introduced.
1. Sam, Roz, Karen, and Lori signed the thank you letter for Keith King of King Brothers Decorating Center for their donation to the SCRC Holiday Decorating Contest donation of 3 $25 gift certificates.
2. Discussion of plans for Winter Carnival December 2008. Including rides, parade, snowman contest, chili cooking contest, having local restaurants sponsor local booths, cross country ski races at school track.
3. Plans for ice rink for town kids to skate during Christmas vacation. Will contact Southwick Park and Rec about location for rink and liability.
4. We discussed going to the next Economic Development Committee meeting to see if local businesses would be interested in getting involved in the carnival. Ask EDC for a list of all the businesses in town.
5. Discussed putting winter decorations up on College Highway and coordinating with DPW with that.
6. When we research new street lights for College Highway we should suggest getting ones with electrical outlet and location to hang plants in the summer.
7. Discussed recognition awards. They will be quarterly. Next award will be decided in March, announced in April meeting and publicity in April. June, announced in July, would be the next award, then September, announced in October, then December announced in January at the Carnival.
8. More discussion about the Winter carnival. Others to get involved, Rotary club, boy scouts, girl scouts, American Legion.
9. Sledding contest. You make your own sled out of cardboard, make an elaborate sled.
10. Need to contact Superintendent of schools about using school grounds.
11. Meeting was adjourned at 8:45 p.m.
