The regularly scheduled June 24, 2008, meeting was opened at 6:30PM by Chairman, Kelly Magni. Bills were signed and previous meeting minutes accepted.
Lenore Anderson, et al, attended meeting to donate monies made from the 2nd grade at Woodland School’s lemonade stand for a bench in Woodland’s honor for Rails to Trails. The children collected $402.70.
Patty Dunn O’Connell, et al, attended meeting to discuss a variety of uses for the new Whalley Park. The O’Connell’s would like to match money raised or run a fund raiser for this new park. Kelly attended a special meeting for Whalley Park and its use. The plan is being designed for soccer fields, bandshell, baseball, t-ball and parking areas. There is 35 acres being cleared for these fields.
Kelly Brown of the Westfield Boys & Girls Club attended to present a new proposal for the use of the Community Center. They would like to expand their hours of operation which would include ? school days and school vacations. The Commissioners ok’d this new proposal and wished the Club well.
Meeting was adjourned at 8:30pm.
