Bills and Mail:

A MOTION was made by Mr. Cataldo, seconded by Mr. Arnold (Vote-Unanimous) to sign all of the following:

•       The Board of Selectmen signed Warrant #0822 in the amount of $14, 7061.63.
•       The Board of Selectmen signed Warrant #0826B in the amount of $5,690.00.

7:10 P.M. Cultural Council:

The Cultural Council informed the Board of Selectmen as to their intent to apply for funding grants for the purpose of outfitting the auditorium in Town Hall for plays and various productions. The Board approved Susan Kochanski to sign the grants on behalf of the Town. There are handi cap accessible issues that will need to be addressed.

Bills and Mail Cont’d:

•       The Connect City Contract is being drawn up and will be for a three year term.
•       A letter from the Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency releasing the Administrative Fee due from the April 2007 Nor’easter to the Town of Southwick in the amount of $889.69. The CAO will sign the contracts for reimbursement.
•       The DPW Director mailed letters to Congamond Road property owners informing them of the reconstruction of Congamond Road to the Connecticut line. A public information date of March 25, 2008 at the Town Hall Auditorium has been set.
•       A memo was received from the Chief of Police informing the Board of the status of a Student Officer in Academy training. The Selectmen will wait to make a decision.
•       The Board of Selectmen approved the transfer for Kathy Carlson as of March 26, 2008 for a 60 day trial period for the internal vacancy for Secretary of
•       Inspectional Services Level II. The Selectmen will post the TCC Secretary Level II position internally.
•       The Town of Southwick was listed as one of the communities to receive an Open Government Award from the Common Cause for the second year in a row.
•       The Selectmen approved the Chief of Police to attend training from 3/31/2008 through 4/11/2008.
•       The Selectmen approved a one day liquor license for the Cultural Council Art Show at Town Hall on 4/11/2008.
•       Edgewood Golf Course seasonal liquor license renewal application was signed by the Selectmen.
•       A certificate of appreciation for Chris Swords will be sent for her service at the Family Support Coalition.
•       The seasonal Lake Management employment agreements were signed for 2008.
•       A discharge of lien from Robert and Shirley Henry at 34 Beach Road in the amount of $20,000.00.
•       Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve requested the Selectmen to sign the Statement of Support for the Guard & Reserve certificate.
•       The Board of Selectmen received a letter form Sgt. Kirk Sander’s recommending additional lighting at the Notch Travel Center.

A  MOTION was made by Mr. Arnold, seconded by Mr. Cataldo (Vote – Unanimous) to go into Executive Session at 7:35 P.M. according to MGL Chap.
39, Subsection 23B, Par. 3, & 6, not to reconvene to Open Session. Roll Call Vote was as follows: Mr. Arnold – Yes, Mr. Cataldo - Yes.
