December 5, 2011
OPENING: The special meeting of the Sewer Implementation Committee opened at 7:00 p.m. The following members were in attendance:
Jerry Patria
Freda Brown
Brian Pranka
MINUTES
Mr. Pranka made a motion to accept the minutes of June 27, 2011. Mr. Patria seconded the motion and the vote of the Committee was unanimous in favor.
DISCUSSION
The Committee members in attendance signed the Annual Ethics Law Requirements documents as requested by the Town Clerk’s office.
The Committee members discussed the FY 2013 budget and calculated the line items in accordance with the requested level funding, 5% reduction and 10% reduction. The Committee members did note that the supply budget had not been used for the past few years. At this point, there is minimal participation for the members. In the event Phase II advances, the supply budget may be needed again.
The Committee received a letter from the Board of Selectmen, acting as Sewer Commissioner, concerning efforts to pursue funding for the parallel interceptor. The interceptor is required when the sewer line reaches a capacity of 175,000 gallons per day. At this time, the Town is using approximately 160,000 gallons per day. Applications have been submitted to USDA/RDA and a below market interest loan through the State Revolving Fund. The Committee members did note that the estimate for the interceptor has increased, with the land, structure, right of ways, appraisals not completed within the total calculation of $2,070,000.00.
