Meeting Minutes
Tuesday, June 10, 2008
Present: Nancy Stenberg, Michael McMahon, Nancy Zdun, Anne Murray (Director), Carol Geryk

Michael McMahon called the regular meeting of the Southwick Public Library Board of Trustees to order at 7:10 PM on June 10, 2008 in the Community Room.
A. Public Comment
No public comment.
B. Communications
• The Children’s librarian will be visiting the Woodland and Powder Mill schools to discuss the summer reading programs.
• A Senior Health Fair was held Monday, 6/9 in the Town Hall. The library had a table and presented a prize to the 40 people who visited the table. Dick Young won the raffle.
• The Adult Reading program will begin 6/23.
• Angela Colson has been hired as a summertime page.
• 20 pieces of artwork “Picturing America” will be hung in the library, and blocks of reading programs will be associated with the artwork.
C. Acceptance of minutes
• A motion to accept the minutes of April 8, 2008 was made by Mike McMahon . Carol Geryk seconded the motion and the minutes were accepted.
• No meeting was held May 15th because there was not a quorum of trustees.

E. Old Business
• Nancy Stenberg’s Digital Camera workshop will be May 28th, instead of May 21st.
• A subcommittee will be determined at the next meeting to prepare Anne’s evaluation.
F. New Business
• The trustees discussed the proposed summer hours. The library will be closed on Saturdays after 7/4 through the Labor Day weekend. A motion to accept the new hours was made by Nancy Zdun. Carol Geryk seconded the motion and the new hours were accepted.
• Also, discussed was the changing of library hours after Labor Day.
The proposed changes are:
Keep the Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday hours the same
Change the Thursday’s hours from 10-5 to 1-8.
A motion to accept the new hours was made by Nancy Zdun. Carol Geryk seconded the motion and the new fall hours were accepted.
• There will be no July Trustees meeting, and an August meeting will be held if needed.
• There was a discussion about the Friends of the Library group and their Open House proposals.
Adjournment:
Meeting was adjourned at 8:05 PM. The next Board meeting will be at 7:00 PM on Tuesday, Sept 9, 2008 in the Library’s Community Room.
