Meeting Minutes
Tuesday, April 8, 2008
Present: Nancy Stenberg, Michael McMahon, Nancy Zdun, Anne Murray (Director), Carol Geryk, Debbie Randzio, Karen Contois
Michael McMahon called the regular meeting of the Southwick Public Library Board of Trustees to order at 7:10 PM on April 8, 2008 in the Community Room.
A. Public Comment
No public comment.
B. Communications
• The library has received $545.27, in addition to the $15,073.14 announced in Nov by the State Aid to Public Libraries. Breakdown - $415.00 (MEG), $23.56 (NRC) and $106.39 matching grant due to the fundraising efforts of the Friends of the Library.
• Joanne Judd attended the Library Legislator day on April 4th at the State House in Boston.
• J. Paul Meagher spokesperson for the Shurtleff Children’s Services toured the Children’s Room. The library has asked for a grant of $2,000.00 to fund the “Going Green” theme of activities for the children.
• The grant from the Sarah Gillete Services for the Elderly is still outstanding. Anne will be attending a meeting April 17th (Wilcox Ins Agency conference room) to explain the grant request.
C. Acceptance of minutes
A motion to accept the minutes of March 11, 2008 with minor changes was made by Nancy Stenberg. Carol Geryk seconded the motion and the minutes were accepted.

E. Old Business
• National Library Week is April 13-19. Each person who completes a survey will be eligible to win the prize of a bag stuffed with goodies. Everyone will receive a bookmark.
• Mike will determine the subject and time of his workshop.
• Nancy Stenberg’s Digital Camera workshop will be May 21st (6-7:30pm)
• A subcommittee will be determined at next month’s meeting to prepare Anne’s evaluation.
F. New Business
• Mike and Nancy Zdun have agreed to work with the Friends of the Library to plan the Open House for later this fall.

Meeting was adjourned at 7:55 PM. The next Board meeting will be at 7:00 PM on Thurs, May 15, 2008 in the Library’s Community Room.
