1. Chris made a motion to accept the minutes from the 8/28/08 meeting. Norm seconded the motion all were in favor to accept the minutes as written.
2. Sewer expansion – The first of the two informational meetings for the entire town was held on Tuesday, September 9th. Tighe & Bond made the presentation on behalf of the town. The second one will be held on October 7th. The expansion is projected to cost between $19 and $20 million dollars including the parallel interceptor.
3. Ramp Reconstruction – Nothing new to report.
4. Local Permitting – Dick is still working on the Power Point Presentation. The Selectmen should meet on the LPP in October.
5. Post hurricane lake level issues – The structure by the canal was blocked by debris and this was the major reason the lake was backed up. Once the debris was cleaned away the water went roaring over again. Every one of us needs to be mindful of the importance of making sure that this outlet is clear. We need to keep our eyes open and check the canal often for debris. All we need to do is let Dick know when and if it is backed up.
6. The Historical Commission is looking for a letter of support from the LMC for their grant. Everyone agreed to support them. Dick will write up the letter.
7. Bill has agreed to go out and do another census, for comparison. He plans on going out early on a weekday morning. He will bring either his wife or Chris along for help.
8. Ray took someone from NEEC around the lakes today to look at all the aquatics. Kerro Frost was mostly interested in whether or not the native aquatics were harmed in the last treatment.
9. We decided to request the addition of alum to the list of treatments that can be used on the lake. We are hoping that it will be effective against the greenish black sludge that abounds the lakes.
10. Buoys – Steve brought it to our attention just how serious the buoy bashing on the lakes has gotten. There needs to be more police patrol out there and better police reaction to calls made.
11. Chris made a motion requesting that the Harbormaster attend one of our meetings. Norm seconded. All were in favor to accept the motion. Dick will invite Chief Krynicki to one of our next meetings.
12. The Annual Town Summer Picnic is Friday, September 12th. We are all invited to share in the feast.
13. Chris made a motion to adjourn. Sue seconded. All in favor.
14. Our next meeting will be held on September 25, 2008.
15. Our meeting was adjourned at 7:50PM.
Respectfully submitted,
