1.  Norm made a motion to accept the minutes from the 6/26/08 meeting.  Scotty seconded the motion all were in favor to accept the minutes as written.

2.  Sewer expansion – Nothing new to report.

3.  Ramp Reconstruction – Nothing new to report.

4.  Local Permitting – Nothing new to report here as well.

5.  Lake Safety/Noise issues – Once again we all need to think about what by-laws we want to address.  We will come back and look at this more after we do the boat count and census.  Everyone should come prepared with their thoughts about these issues.

6.  The Boat Parade – Unfortunately the weather hurt participation a lot this year.  There were approximately 30 - 50 boats in the parade and it was guessed that ~15 of them were decorated for the event.

7.  Another of our bollard lights was vandalized on the pier.  This happened either on Saturday or Sunday evening.  Dick and Sue will check the security recordings to try to pinpoint the date and time.

8.  Steve and Bill relocated the buoys and set them on I-beam moorings.  These should hold them in place.

9.  The “NO PWC” sign as you enter North Pond is missing again.  This time the pole is gone as well as the sign.  Dick has two large signs that say “NO PWC…”  He thinks the sign will fit on top of the concrete (on the culvert) that is not decorated.  We’ll need to drill two holes into the concrete while standing on a ladder in a boat.  Then we will need to screw them in and peen them over.

10.  Janeene Crane called Dick about the graffiti on the culverts.  She has an idea of using student artists to cover up the existing graffiti.  We think it is a wonderful creative idea.  Chris made a motion stating that LMC approves the idea of student artists using water based paint to go over existing graffiti using appropriate ecological scenes. Scotty seconded the motion and the motion passed unanimously.

11.  Boat Count and Census – Scotty and Bill will be getting this done next week.

12.  CRC is looking for help in writing grants.  Scotty wanted to know if Dick knew of anyone or had any pointers.  Dick didn’t know of anyone but he did say there was a lot of money to be had out there and that anyone could write a grant.  Dick stressed the need to read every detail of the grant requirements and to make sure that every aspect is addressed in the application.

13.  Chris’s neighbors repeatedly ask him what can be done about why South Pond is so green.  They are concerned about the recurring beaver dams as being a contributing factor.  The town can’t get in there with equipment to address the issue.  Dick said the LMC boat is available as long as there is a member operating same.

14.  Scotty made a motion to adjourn.  Sue seconded.  All in favor.

15.  Our next meeting will be held on July 24, 2008.

16.  Our meeting was adjourned at 8:00PM.

Respectfully submitted,
