1.  Chris made a motion to accept the minutes from the 5/22/08 meeting.  Ray seconded the motion and all were in favor to accept the minutes as written.

2.  Dick explained that the current S319 project work has been completed, with four existing catch basins being replaced with deep sump catch basins and paved swales as needed.

3.  The application for a new $0.5M S319 project was sent to DEP, along with several support letters.  The project plan addresses the areas noted in the last two meetings.

4.  Southwick voters approved funding to design and permit the interceptor extension to the Westfield Wastewater Treatment Plant and the funding to complete the preliminary design work and funding applications for Phase 2 of the sewer system.  The DPW and SIC met with the Selectmen and the plan is to begin a series of public hearings to explain Phase 2 plans to the general public in more detail.

5.  The LMC hopes that the BOS will address the Local Permitting Program proposal now that the recently elected selectman is on board.

6.  Dick contacted Rick Cross (SPD) to help try to locate the missing moorings in the channel by the sandbar and the wheel/shaft that was lost near the boarding docks.

7.  The CRC’s Annual Lake Cleanup Day was a success.  One team cleared debris from the canal.  A second crew removed old shrubs and planted new flowers at the gazebo, flagpole and Visitor Center planters.  A third crew cleaned up debris on the northern shoreline of North Pond in the area of the vacant land.

8.  Chris and Bill offered to try to locate and remove a pole that has been reported to be just below the surface on the southern side of the new culvert.

9.  A motion was made to adjourn and all were in favor.

10.  The next meeting will be held on June 26, 2008.

11.  Our meeting was adjourned at 7:25PM.

Respectfully submitted,
