1.  Chris made a motion to accept the minutes from the 4/24/08 meeting.  Ray seconded the motion all were in favor to accept the minutes as written.

2.  S-319 – Southwick DPW workers are in the process of installing deep sump catch basins at 5 sites along Berkshire Avenue.  In addition, paved waterways will be added in areas that have been subject to roadside erosion in the past.

3.  Sewer expansion – Tighe & Bond is under contract to design the Phase 2 interceptor extension and also the preliminary design for the sewer expansion.  Areas to be considered for Phase 2 have been identified and associated flows established.  Phase 2 will address the balance of the Massachusetts side in North & Middle Ponds.  CT is still working on their plan to sewer the lake residences but has nothing new to report at this time.

4.  LPP – Nothing new to report.

5.  Ramp Reconstruction – Dick met on Tuesday with Doug and Bob from FBA.  Everyone now is on the same page as far as the design.  There were some issues about the docks and the ramp design but they came to a compromise on the docks for the North Ramp.

6.  Buoys – Most have been installed already.  We still need to find one mooring near the sandbar that is missing.  Dick was able to find the missing one from South Ramp.  It had no mooring.  Dick machined 7 or 8 new tops and just needs a calm day to bolt them in place.

7.  We had some pretty significant damage done down at the North Ramp to the bollard lights on Sunday evening, 4/27/08.  The FBA offered to pay for the damage.  Instead of buying new bollards, Dick wants to rebuild what we have but to replace the cast aluminum bases with a sturdier taller stainless steel one.  We also need a camera that will pick up the numbers on license plates.  We all agree that without having that capability, the cameras are basically useless.

8.  The Rail-Trail ground breaking ceremony in Monday, May 12th. At 10:30 A.M.  It will be held adjacent to Red Riding Hood’s Basket on Congamond Road.

9.  The Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for the culvert will be at 11:00 A.M.  Following the ceremony, a finger food lunch will be made available at the Boat House.

10.  Tuesday at 10:00 A.M. the Aquatic Control and New England Environmental will be conducting a weed survey.  Ray will be going out with them.  Jerry has areas the residents have told him about that he would like Ray to check out.  Jerry would like Ray to get in touch with Steve Schmid to see if he would like to go out with him during the survey.

11.  As for the docks that are floating around, Jerry asked that if we know whom they belong to could we get the owner to take care of removing same.  Dick said, “Yes” if the addresses are provided.  He will forward the information to the Harbormaster who will contact the owners.

12.  Lake Clean-up Day - Saturday the 7th.   We would love to have the Gazebo area done, the area in front of the Visitor Center and the flagpole.  Jeanene is trying this year to help retired people cleanup their yards.

13.  Scotty made a motion to adjourn.  Sue seconded.  All in favor.

14.  Our next meeting will be held on May 22, 2008.

15.  Our meeting was adjourned at 8:00PM.

Respectfully submitted,
