Business
1. The minutes of the August 16 meeting were reviewed and accepted.
2. The September 20 meeting of the Historical Commission was cancelled.
3. The Commission reviewed the draft of procedures submitted by Tennessee Gas in relation to their Northampton Extension Project in Southwick. The Chair will send a letter indicating the Commission’s approval of the procedure that will be taken by Tennessee Gas to insure that any archives encountered will be protected.
4. Barbara gave a report of CPC activity which is currently centered on APRs that have been submitted to the committee. The next meeting will be on October 26.
5. The Commission met with Town Clerk Michelle Hill and went over the cost estimates submitted for the preservation and organization of town records. The two earliest Town Meeting record books will be among the documents addressed in this round of preservation. The number of documents was reduced from what was originally proposed and at this meeting the Commission was looking at the new figures that were requested of the preservation providers. The Commission will work with the Town Clerk in filling out the CPC application. Michelle will attend the next meeting of the Commission at which time it is hoped that the CPC application will be finalized and submitted.
6. New England Historic Film - The Commission will take this project up at the next meeting.
