Business

1.      Interviewed representatives from Fitzgerald and Halliday, Stacey Vairo and Steven M Bedford, PH.D. A set of eight questions developed by the Commission members were asked and responded to by the representatives. The Commission wished to ascertain the scope of knowledge F&H had of the historic inventory regulations and process as required by MHC. Questions were asked about mapping, developing an inventory file, area forms, buildings index database, assessments of prehistoric sites, methodology used for assessing properties, and assessing New England barns.

2.      Todd made a motion to hire Fitzgerald & Halliday to undertake an intensive level community- wide survey of cultural and architectural resources in the Town of Southwick. Seconded by Karen.  Discussion of qualifications ensued. Vote taken to hire was unanimous. Barbara will notify MHC of the decision of the board.

3.      The Commission members agreed to have a work session on September 24 at 1pm to review the prospective resources list developed with Chris Skelly and develop a list for the consultants to research.
