The scheduled meeting of the Finance Committee was called to order at 6:34 p.m.
The next Finance Committee meeting will be at 6:30 p.m. on May 12, 2008.
A MOTION was made by L. Bathel, seconded by S. Chamberlin (Vote: 3 Yes; 2 Abstain) to accept the minutes of April 14, 2008.
A MOTION was made by R. Horacek, seconded by L. Bathel (Vote: Unanimous) to approve a Reserve Fund Transfer in the amount of $15,000.00 for gas and oil.
The Finance Committee discussed writing the pros and cons of the warrant articles to be available for the public before Town Meeting on May 20, 2008. The members of the Finance Committee will have these prepared for the next meeting and they will be posted on the Town of Southwick's web page.
Chairman, R. Buley has requested the Police MPA Salary comparisons book. Secretary, R. Solek will see that he receives it.
The final budget will be emailed to the Finance Committee members.
The Finance Committee would like a more detailed explanation for the Warrant Article 18 raising the minimum value subject to taxation for personal property to be $10,000.00. John Clegg, Asst. Assessor will be scheduled for the next Finance Committee meeting.
Article 18 on the Annual Town Meeting Warrant will need a Finance Committee vote of recommendation.
The Finance Committee will meet on May 20, 2008 at 6:15 p.m. prior to Special Town Meeting at the STRSD Auditorium.
A MOTION was made by C. Garvey, seconded by S. Chamberlin (Vote- Unanimous) to adjourn at 8:37 p.m.
