FINANCE COMMITTEE MINUTES
November 9, 2006

The scheduled meeting of the Finance Committee was called to order at 6:32 p.m. by Chairman, P. Tsatsos.

 

The next scheduled Finance Committee meeting will be December 4, 2006 at 6:00 p.m.

 

Mr. Chris Brockbank, a town resident introduced himself to the Finance Committee and explained that he was representing a group of concerned town residents on town finances and the budget process. Members of the Finance Committee answered questions and provided him with an updated Finance Committee Report which has the current budget included in the report.

 

Chairman, P. Tsatsos gave an overview of the meeting on November 6, 2006 with the Board of Selectmen and Labor Counsel Fred Dupere. He reviewed the open meeting law. Mr. Tsatsos extended an apology to the Asst. Town Accountant and the Secretary for placing them in an unintentional awkward position during the October 26, 2006 meeting.

 

A MOTION was made by D. Kononitz, seconded by L. Bathel (Vote – Unanimous) to

Table the minutes of October 26, 2006.

 

A MOTION was made by D. Kononitz, seconded by R. Buley (Vote – Unanimous) to Approve a Reserve Fund Transfer in the amount of $10,000.00 for Veterans Services.

 

Town Accountant, L. Carr presented the Finance Committee with an updated report on the Library Gift Account as requested. There was discussion on Munis and where the status is to various accounts.

 

The tax rate should be set within the next few days.

 

A MOTION was made D. Kononitz, seconded by L. Bathel (Vote – Unanimous) to adjourn at
