FINANCE COMMITTEE MINUTES
June 15, 2006

The scheduled meeting of the Finance Committee was called to order at 6:30 p.m. by Chairman, P. Tsatsos.

 

A MOTION was made by P.Dunn-O’Connell, seconded by R. Buley (Vote – Unanimous) to accept the minutes of May 16, 2006.

 

The next scheduled Finance Committee meeting will be July 20, 2006 at 6:30 p.m.

 

L.Carr, Town Accountant updated the Finance Committee on the computer glitches with Munis. T.Scanlon Jr. will be at Town Hall the second week of July to help make the changes.

 

A MOTION was made P.Dunn-O’Connell, seconded by D.Kononitz (Vote-Unanimous) to reaffirm a Reserve Fund Transfer in the following amounts to the following line items.

 

            $3228.36                                 Veteran’s line item

            $1,950.00                                Department of Public Works maintenance

            $3,500.00                                Library electricity

            $5,500.00                                Department of Public Works over-time

            $   750.00                                Animal Control after hour calls

            $26,000.00                              Gas & Oil for town vehicles

            $20,000.00                              Public Safety Utilities   

 

The Finance Committee would like to schedule an exit interview with Paul Mormino, Interim Treasurer/Collector/Clerk on June 19, 2006.

 

The Finance Committee met with Chief of Police Krynicki and Officer Rhett Bannish to discuss Article 20 that was placed on the Annual Town Meeting Warrant by the Police Officers. This would be a supplemental insurance to cover medical costs incurred during a job related injury. Chief Krynicki and Officer Bannish provided information to the Finance Committee. Presently, Agawam and Westfield provide this coverage.

 

A MOTION was made R. Buley, seconded by R. Horacek (Vote – Unanimous) to adjourn at

7:45 p.m.
