The Economic Development Commission has worked on several on-going projects this past year including:
- Welcome to Southwick sign that will be installed this spring on Rt. 10/202 on the Southwick-Granby line
- We have a committee working on reviewing the sign ordinance, along with the Southwick Association of Businesses and will be presenting our proposed changes to the Planning Board for their review
- The Commission has been in contact with the Western Mass. Development Corp. in Chicopee on their interest in a future light industrial park in Southwick. Several factors including available industrial-zoned property, utilities including sewer availability and the Rt. 57 expansion are key ingredients in this project
The Commission has also been working on the Route 10/202 Downtown Corridor; Community Development; the EDC Website; and a business survey.
We look forward to working with any new business that is considering a move into Southwick. Interested parties may contact any of our members.
