Transfer Station Stickers can be purchased in the Collector's Office at Town Hall, fee is $90.00.  Stickers are available for purchase via UniPay providing one has a currently active sticker.
TRANSFER STATION STICKERS WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE FOR PURCHASE AT THE TRANSFER STATION


General Rules and Regulations

This Transfer Station is for Southwick refuse only.  Anyone dumping trash from another town may have their sticker revoked and will be subject to the appropriate legal action.

Absolutely NO picking through refuse.

Recycling is mandantory for paper, glass, plastic, and aluminum.  (All containers must be washed).

Each type of trash is designed to be disposed of in its own separate container.

Scrap metal has its own container and must be free of rubber, plastic, wood, etc.

Used motor oil and antifreeze must be presented to an attendant for transfer to the tank.

Furniture must be broken down and all metal removed.

Bulkloads anything larger than a one-ton pick-up can only be dumped with a special permit.  Rubbish is not to exceed original sideboards on all pick-up trucks.

Brush will be accepted on Saturdays only for chipping in the designated area.

People are encouraged to bring refuse 10 minutes before closing time to allow employees ample time to properly close the facility.

Composting

Grass clippings, leaves, and woodchips may be disposed of in a designated area on any day.  These items must be kept free of brush, trash, wood, and plastic bags.

Prohibited Dumping

The following items are expressly prohibited from dispensing at the Southwick Transfer Station.  

        Hazardous Waste:  flammable liquids, poisonous chemicals, industrial and commercial waste.
        Button & Automotive Batteries:  (will be collected by operator)
        Demolition:  ceramic sinks/toilets, wood, sheetrock, siding, shingles, etc.
        Fluorescent bulbs:  (will be collected by operator)
        T.V. Sets & Computers:  (see fee schedule )

STICKER PLACEMENT
IT IS REQUIRED THAT THE STICKER BE ADHERED TO THE LOWER INSIDE CORNER OF THE DRIVER'S SIDE OF THE WINDSHIELD AND EASILY READ FROM THE OUTSIDE.

*NO vehicles will  be allowed to use facilities without sticker permanently attached as described as above.

Special (Recycling Only) Stickers to be mounted on lower drivers side window.
