COA Monthly Meeting
August 12, 2008
MEETING CALLED TO ORDER 1:00pm
Presiding: Mary Alice Martin
Present: Joan Plancon, Mary Alice Martin, Roy Benson, Herb Pace, Ed Nitsch, Associate member Mary Jane Connolly, and Director Jeanne Margarites.
Absent: Harriet Fischer, Lorraine Lawrence
Minutes: Reviewed and accepted
Bills: Reviewed and signed
Old Business:
· Senior Center addition – Grant received for $80,000 for expansion design.
New Business:
· HVES representative – Joan read letter from HVES accepting Harriet as representative from COA until 2011.
· Ice Cream Social – Very good crowd and all were happy.
· Birthday Party – August 18th at 12:00 p.m. for seniors having birthdays in June, July, and August. This will be done every quarter.
· Picnic – August 27th at 11:00 a.m. The COA board will cook and serve.
· HVES grant – Jeanne submitted as follows:
Newsletter $1,000.00
Nancy’s salary – 3 hours a day
Nutrition $14,992.00
· Tag sale – September and October
· Senior Sizzler – August 13th at the town beach
· Bridge Class – Ed is starting another class Wednesday, September 17th at 1:00p.m.
· Joan read a letter of thanks from the Ronald McDonald House for the “tabs” donated.
· Classes – Resume the 2nd week in September.
· Jeanne will put in Messenger we need one more person to go to HVES with Harriet.
