COA MONTHLY MEETING
March 11, 2008
MEETING CALLED TO ORDER 1:00 PM
PRESIDING: Mary Alice Martin
Present: Lorraine Lawrence, Ed Nitsch, Mary Alice Martin, Joan Plancon, Roy
Benson, Herb Pace, Harriet Fischer, Associate member Mary Jane Connolly and
Director Jeanne Margarites.
Absent: None
Minutes: Reviewed and accepted.
Bills: Reviewed and signed.
Old Business:
• Special Town Meeting – all urged to attend 3/15/08 10:00am Powder Mill
School.
• Volunteer luncheon – 5/15/08 at Tuckers. Discussion between Cove and Tuckers. Cove was $15.95 plus 18% gratuity and 5% tax. Tuckers is $16.50, everything included for stuffed chicken breast. Spouses will pay full price. No individual gifts this year. Centerpieces only. Mary Jane and Mary Alice will do centerpieces. Volunteers must have at least 15 hours of volunteering to be considered. Sign up needed.
• Health Fair – 6/9/08, 9:00am to 12 noon in the auditorium. COA members are asked to be there by 8:30am.
New Business:
• Registry of Motor Vehicles will be here to hold a safe driving workshop on 4/14/08 at 12:30pm.
• WMACA meeting 3/24/08, 8:00am on Mental Health for Elders.
• Summer Social Event. Probably sometime in July – Menu, hamburgers, hot dogs, chips, watermelon, etc.
• Tag Sale - Senior Center made $268.00. Sale was for January and February.
• Dining Center – discussion was held about problems in center. Less people are coming - why? etc. COA will hold a workshop with Nancy 3/18/08 at 1:00pm.
