COA MONTHLY MEETING
January 8, 2008
MEETING CALLED TO ORDER: 1:00 pm
PRESIDING: Mary Alice Martin
PRESENT: Herb Pace, Lorraine Lawrence, Ed Nitsch, Mary Alice Martin and DirectorJeanne Margarites.
ABSENT: Roy Benson, Harriet Fischer, and Joan Plancon.
MINUTES: Reviewed and accepted.
BILLS: Reviewed and signed.
OLD BUSINESS:
• COA Open house was attended by 100 plus guests, and was a success.
• Party at Tuckers was also well attended by 85 even with the nasty weather.
• Town Christmas party was enjoyed by board members that attended.
• Appointment for the new budget will be attended by COA board members who are in town on 2/16/08 at 8:00 am.
NEW BUSINESS:
• Jeanne will attend Selectmen’s meeting on 1/14/08 at 7:15 pm to hear discussion about expansion of senior center.
• Discussion was held about open space and what the seniors may enjoy having. Herb thought a par four exercise path would be nice. Horse shoe pits and cross country skiing were mentioned. We will wait for Jean Cass to send the surveyforms to us.
• Andrea has received quite a few recipes and is on schedule to have the cook book ready for the spring health fair.
• We are still in the process of looking for a Tal-Chi teacher.
• Mary Jane Connolly was unanimously approved by the COA Board to serve as an associate member. Jeanne will forward her name to the Board of Selectmen for their approval and appointment.
