BOARD OF HEALTH
OPENING: The regular scheduled meeting of the Board of
Health opened at

Mr. FitzGerald, Health Agent was also in attendance.

Ms. Brzoska made a motion to accept the minutes of May
3rd and
1. Mr. FitzGerald received a call from an engineer representing Big Y. A break out appeared in the septic system due to inadequate topsoil. Topsoil was replaced to resolve the issue. Mr. FitzGerald did conduct a food service inspection and did discover some minor housekeeping issues.
2. Mr. FitzGerald and Dr. Azia attended a Board of Selectmen’s meeting to discuss a permanent solution of the issuance of liquor and food licenses.

5. The Board members reviewed a State report of an inspection for the Arnold Farm labor camp.
6. Mr. FitzGerald related that the revised sewer connection letter had been sent to Town Counsel along with a list of properties that may not be connected.

Mr. FitzGerald responded to a complaint at
9. Mr. FitzGerald received a complaint from a resident of Captain Fowler Apartments concerning a neighboring unoccupied unit. The DPW and Building Inspector inspected the vacant room. A carpet was removed according to the owner. Mr. FitzGerald will do a confirmation inspection.
10. Mr. FitzGerald will inspect the food service areas at Moto Cross 338 on June 9th. Each service area will be issued a separate license.

13. Mr. FitzGerald conducted the final inspection of the septic system installation at the following locations:

1. The Board of Health received a notification that lyme disease is now not reportable to Boards of Health. Health care providers are now responsible to report the disease to the State.
2. The MHOA issued a letter to the Board concerning the disposal of needles (sharps). The MHOA is in the process of changing regulations to make it easier for the disposal by having drop off sites in rural communities for sharps.
3. Mr. FitzGerald received a notification of National Incident Management System training. The training must be complete by September 30 for certification.
